Logo for the Golden ring of Russia #2
Here finally comes another approach to Russia’s golden ring logo.
We folded under the pressure of the clients comments, which were like “Use another image” or “We hate the wood rings”, “This looks like a woodwork company logo”, “ We are looking for some substantial symbol - Church domes for instance”.
So, we set off for another symbol. The dome as the basic element (naturally) was completed with a “babushka” and a ring itself. And here we are racing towards what we were trying to get away from.
The result we got is a light symbol that has something about both - monumental domes and cozy warm “babushka”.
Once we featured the sign with Minion Pro font, the antique went from classic to orthodox right away.
The anniversary version of the logo looks quite unforced, doesn’t it? Well, to be honest, we didn’t give it much thought.
The city identity is easily achieved by inserting the heraldry into the sign.
The leading promo content of the Russia’s Golden Ring today are the picturesque landscapes images. Therefore we came up with a logic way of integrating the symbol into the photograph. In this manner our sign becomes an inherent part of the image accenting the beauty of the place.
